Frequently Asked Questions

Home Owners Guide: Preparing Your Home Before A Shoot

What are Architectural Light-Painted Photos?

Light Painted Photography is mixing artificial light, natural ambient light, and high powered strobe light, these images create a hyper realistic mood that has become a staple in the commercial and advertising world. Unlike traditional techniques such as single long exposures or HDR (high dynamic range) renders, Light Painting allows you to have the most amount of control over every light source seen in the image. Giving your listing the best curb appeal.

What is HDR?

HDR stands for high dynamic rangecombining the best parts of the three overexposed, underexposed, and balanced shots to create a dramatic image with beautiful shadowing and highlights.

How long will it take to photograph my property?

The shoot will take between 1.5 and 2 hours. Most homes can be shot in 1.5 hours although some shoots may take longer.

Do you retain the copyright to your images or are the rights transferred to me when I buy prints or digital images?

The photographer (Bell Real Estate Photography) retains the copyrights as is standard practice in the photography industry.

Do I need to remove pets and pet items?

Yes, please make sure pets are contained during the shoot. Pets and pet items are never included in photos due to MLS regulations and need to be out of the way during the shoot.

Do you shoot 360-degree panoramic photography?

No. I advise against using 360-degree panoramic photography since it tends to make a room look disproportionate and smaller than it really is. In order to achieve this type of photography, the camera has to be placed in the center of the room which ends up flattening out the depth of the space.

Can you just Photoshop that?

Photoshop is an awesome tool with a lot of power.  However, nothing replaces making sure the home is photo-ready when the photographer arrives.  Photoshop does not do windows, clean floors, put the kids toys away or play gardener.  Keep in mind that the home will look as good in photos as it does in person.

How long will it take to receive my photographs?

Within 3 business days.

How are the photos delivered?

The photos will be delivered via an email link from Dropbox where you will be able to download your images.

What form of payment do you take?

Cash or check.
